Project Summary: POINT of this assignment: We will learn about cultural appropriation through your own examples and discussions of it, and by comparing that to hooks' view of appropriation in this reading--so we are also getting a better idea of her view.
Provide an example of cultural appropriation (that you come up with on your own--e.g. popular culture, media, personal, news, etc.--or it can be in hooks) and explain why you think it is cultural appropriation. At the start of class, you will hand in your example (title/name/short description) and how it's relevant to hooks or Paris on a piece of paper (so if we don't get a chance to discuss them all, you can still get credit for this part).
You need to tie it to hooks and/or Paris is Burning--so put on your hand-in the page # and/or a moment in the film that you think is relevant to your example.
